The Ouachita Job Corps is a no-cost educational and career technical training program, administered by the U.S Department of Labor, which helps young people ages 16- through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career, technical and academic training.
The Ouachita Job Corp is working on several collaborations with the Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute’s Malco Theatre Complex, recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, through offering on-the-job training programs while completing numerous facilities improvements.  Their assistance with the much needed improvements will enable HSDFI to expand their programming and services throughout the Hot Springs Cultural district, as well as to individuals and organizations throughout Arkansas. Left to right in the photo are: Ralph Porter, an inaugural staff member of Job Corps when first established under the name of CCC ( The Civilian Conservation Corp) under Sergeant Shiver; Charles Wagner Smith, HSDFI Board Director; Nate Robinson, HSDFI Security Director; Dennis Magee, historical building consultant; Lawrence Ferrell, Job Corps Director; Malinda Herr-Chambliss, HSDFI Executive Director; Terri Moore, Medical Staff Job Corps; Kurt Myers, HSDFI Board member and construction consultant and Roger Johnson, Job Corps Business Liaison.
