There is one thing that has allowed the Jewish people to endure for many centuries is their devotion to memory. Each story and hardship is assumed into the cannon, passed on to the children so that they might pass it to their children. This has been an amazing survival technique for over 3000 years. Filmmaker Dan Jacobson, finds himself burdened by his responsibility as a Jew to remember his family lost in the Holocaust. He is forced to explore these feelings when his grandfather, a survivor of Auschwitz, decides that he is ready to return to his birthplace in rural Romania after a 63 year long exile.
