Baht, is a short film about the story of a young girl who was abducted into the sex
trades of Thailand and Cambodia. It reveals an underground industry that is still
very prominent across the world and shows its effects on the souls it enslaves. Sex
trafficking is modern-day slavery. In Cambodia, and around the world, people are
bought and sold as if they were a commodity. Baht is an attempt to expose this
issue through telling a story, Sophea’s story. Sophea is a young woman fighting to
put the pieces of her life together after being deceived by someone she trusted
and forced into prostitution.
